Students were encouraged to think about their own dreams for their school, community, and world and then bring those dreams to life through art.\r\n\r\nThe donated materials did much more than provide supplies—they helped create an art classroom where students could dream, create, express themselves, and believe that their ideas matter. Having quality materials available allowed students to experiment with color, pattern, line, and design while developing confidence in their artistic abilities.\r\n\r\nBring able to participate in the Martin Luther King Jr. art contest also gave students a meaningful reason to take pride in their work. Your generosity has given my students exciting new books, literacy games, and leveled reading materials that are making a difference every day.\r\n\r\nMy kindergarteners were so excited when they saw all of the new books and reading games! They couldn't wait to look through the colorful stories, choose books that interested them, and begin reading. The Biscuit, Pinkalicious, Fancy Nancy, and Scholastic books have quickly become classroom favorites.\r\n\r\nThe leveled books are especially helpful because they allow me to provide students with books that match their individual reading abilities. My students can practice the skills we are learning in class while building confidence and developing the important understanding that they are readers!\r\n\r\nThe Fidget Game literacy and math activities have also been a wonderful addition to our classroom. Kindergarten students learn best when they are actively engaged, and these hands-on games allow them to practice sight words, early literacy, and math skills while having fun. It is wonderful to see students helping one another, celebrating when they recognize a word, and becoming more confident with each activity.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, my students will use these materials during independent reading, small-group instruction, literacy centers, and classroom learning activities.
