They were absolutely thrilled! I had several students comment on how much cozier their learning would be now that we have a soft rug to sit on while learning. The students were quick to grab a cushion, a stuffed animal, and a book and snuggle up on the new rug for free reading time. The kids also commented on how much better the rug is than the velcro dots we used to have for whole class learning.\r\n\r\nOur classroom rug will be utilized each and every day! Throughout each day we use it during whole group lessons for phonics, reading, math, science, and social studies. The kids spend the majority of each lesson working at the carpet so this rug is a much needed addition to our learning space. It will be used for so many years to come!\r\n\r\nI cannot thank you enough for your support of my second grade learners! I am beyond grateful for your donation and for helping to make my classroom an even better place to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1787195032783,"projectUrl":"project/cozy-classroom-rug-for-our-best-learning/10401930/","projectTitle":"Cozy Classroom Rug for Our Best Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Barth","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9112125_orig.jpg?crop=2320,2320,x0,y765&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1690058291290","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9112125"},{"teacherId":5568890,"projectId":9578465,"letterContent":"I can not ever thank you enough for donating to my project. The main part of this request were the recordable buttons for my students. I have students that speak Spanish and are working so hard to learn the language, adjust to being in our school, make friends, and try to fit in. While this happens, it is so helpful for them to have instructions in their first language. When they can navigate our classroom independently, they feel successful. \r\n\r\nWhen I have math centers for them to work at, they can easily just push a button and hear the direction for that center recorded in their own language. No need to ask a friend to translate, no waiting in line for my help. This helps them stay on task and feel like a successful student in my class. \r\n\r\nI love seeing the pride on their faces as they complete their work. You have helped them focus more on being a student, than worry about understanding our language. Thanks to these materials, students are now able to engage in hands-on problem solving and creative building activities during STEM time. The bins encourage teamwork, critical thinking, and perseverance as students design, test, and improve their creations. In addition, the new math organization bins have helped keep our manipulatives and centers neat, making transitions smoother and lessons more efficient.
