That simple choice has eliminated the quiet resentment some kids felt about carpet time and has made every child feel like the classroom truly belongs to them.\r\nSince adding the bench, I've noticed a beautiful shift in independence and engagement. All of the frequently used math manipulatives—base-ten blocks, counters, fraction tiles—are now stored in clear bins directly underneath the bench, within arm's reach of anyone seated there. Students no longer hesitate to grab what they need, worried about interrupting my lesson or walking across the room at the \"wrong\" moment. They quietly select the tools that make sense to them, experiment confidently, and often discover multiple ways to solve a problem before I even reach their group. The result has been a noticeable leap in both their willingness to take risks with challenging math concepts and their overall proficiency.
