I always strive to provide flexible seating to my students each year through trips to the thrift store, sales, and deals on FB marketplace. Since we actively use our carpet, seat cushions, yoga balls, etc. they go through major wear-and-tear, making it challenging to replace items when they inevitably break. However, you made it possible for my new group of 4th graders to have brand new classroom materials!\r\n\r\nMy whole class gathers on our carpet each morning to go over our schedule and start the day together. Whenever someone comes to my classroom, they are always quick to compliment our fun, rainbow smiley carpet. My students were so excited when I introduced our flexible seating chart, known to us as \"Book Nooks.\" They get assigned a new flexible seating option each week. Every Monday when they get a new choice, I'm reminded of the excitement and anticipation that comes with getting your favorite one (the yoga balls and lily pads are extremely popular)! \r\n\r\nIt's not only exciting, but helpful with engagement. I have a few students this year who are always on the move - wiggling, fidgeting, and often out of their seat. I was shocked when one of them had the yoga ball because he was able to quietly wiggle all day AND get his work done without distracting himself and his peers. Another wiggly student tried the chair kick band and it had the same effect. She was able to actively move her legs without unnecessarily leaving her seat. I'm very grateful for these materials, as they are allowing kids to be themselves while also remaining present for learning.","fullyFundedDate":1755697539017,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-wiggle-while-you-work/9506249/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating: Wiggle While You Work!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ruffa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9176190_orig.jpg?crop=296,296,x0,y54&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722114139171","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9176190"},{"teacherId":9176190,"projectId":8605473,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations to our Math class. I have students transitioning from three other classrooms and the materials from this project positively impact our routines each day. \r\n\r\nYour donations have helped my students stay organized and tidy! All of my math students have a pack with their books, whiteboards and folders. The packs make it simple for my students to stay organized amidst their transition from their homeroom class. They always know where their things are because they can easily access their materials from the back of their chair. \r\n\r\nYour donations also have helped my students get excited about learning. Each day as a warm up, our class does fun fluency games to test their math facts or review specific math strategies. I used the protective sleeves to make individual white boards for each student. They love the fast-paced nature of our warm up games, which helps them get energized for our lesson. In addition, I used the three pronged folders to make a gallery wall for students to hang up their work. Both my Math and my homeroom students actively post their work, whether it's an assignment, vocabulary word search, or a drawing that they're proud of. Finally, the extra addition to our Bean bag corner has been a huge hit! I love to watch my students huddle around as they work together on an assignment. Some students also use the bean bag when they need a break. Whether it's to collaborate or cool down, the bean bags are well loved in our classroom space. \r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting my 4th graders!
