Thank you to Ripple for your contribution to my project. So many times, students forget a snack, or their parents does not send one in. Our school day begins at 9:10, and we have some students who eat a very early lunch leading to a long afternoon, and others who eat a very late lunch. The students were excited to see the variety of goodies we received. \r\nI also used the healthy snacks as rewards and incentives. We are a candy free school, and the healthy snacks motivated the students act improve their homework completion and effort in class. The variety of snacks made it possible for all students to be able to enjoy a treat no matter the dietary restriction. \r\nStudents don't always know when treats will be awarded. One thing that I like to do is reward special acts of kindness with a healthy snack. This has motivated my students to work better in teams and be more supportive of each other. Although originally they were doing it for a treat, I feel the practice has carried over to showing kindness because it is the right thing to do. \r\nThank you again for helping to foster positive school behaviors and caring individuals.","fullyFundedDate":1758291198134,"projectUrl":"project/healthy-snacks-promote-quality-learning/9592450/","projectTitle":"Healthy Snacks Promote Quality Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Lotz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9755273"},{"teacherId":10162452,"projectId":9558179,"letterContent":"Thank you so much again for donating toward this project for my students. Over the past few months of using the iPad and Apple Pencil, I have seen how incredibly motivating it has been for my students, especially during moments when they are dysregulated.\r\n\r\nI frequently work with them on calm-down strategies, and once they choose a coping option—such as deep breathing or using a sensory toy—I am able to offer them a few minutes on the iPad as a positive reinforcement. What begins as something fun often turns into meaningful learning. The activities support important skills such as matching, identifying letters and numbers, and strengthening fine motor skills through tracing uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made a real difference in helping my students regulate their emotions while continuing to learn and grow, and I am truly grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1758290865696,"projectUrl":"project/technology-tools-for-inclusive-learning/9558179/","projectTitle":"Technology Tools for Inclusive Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pal","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-pal-technology"},{"teacherId":7821921,"projectId":9807179,"letterContent":"Our third grade students are using the donated healthy snacks throughout the school day and especially on snow delay days when breakfast is not provided. The snacks are available during designated snack breaks and whenever a student needs a boost to stay focused and ready to learn. One meaningful moment was during a snow delay morning, when several students arrived at school hungry. Being able to offer snacks right away helped them settle in, participate in lessons, and start the day feeling cared for and supported.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the snacks, they were excited and relieved. Many immediately smiled and asked what they could try first. Some students were eager to share which snacks they liked, while others were thankful to have food available when they hadn't eaten at home. The presence of the snacks created a sense of comfort and security in the classroom, and students quickly understood that this resource was there to help them succeed.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, students are better able to focus, collaborate, and engage in learning throughout the day. With basic needs being met, we can move forward with our current lessons in reading and math with fewer interruptions and stronger participation. The magnet tiles inspire creativity as students build towers and structures together, while games like Uno, matching games, and \"Sorry\" encourage teamwork, turn-taking, and problem-solving. One special moment was watching a group of students patiently teach their classmates how to play \"Sorry\", cheering each other on and celebrating good sportsmanship.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their excitement was immediate and contagious. They gasped, clapped, and eagerly asked questions about each game. Many students recognized familiar games like Uno, while others were excited to try something new. Their enthusiasm filled the room, and it was clear they felt grateful and valued knowing these games were just for them to enjoy during recess.\r\n\r\nThanks to these new resources, students are developing important social skills that support their learning in the classroom. As we move forward, we will continue focusing on collaboration and respectful play, which connects directly to our current lessons on teamwork and community.
