These interactive devices are already inspiring curiosity, creativity, and confidence in my students. The joy on their faces as they independently choose and listen to a story reminds me how powerful your generosity truly is.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in the power of stories and for helping me create a classroom where every child can grow as a reader, thinker, and storyteller. We have loved learning about people who have impacted so many lives. Each child in my class was able to choose a book that they found interesting. They used the book to write a biography report. This is definitely not an easy task for a second grader. They really had to read and think about what were the most important facts about the person they choose. They had to answer specific questions about their person. Each biography book has a timeline of the person's life. The student's were very excited when they realized some of the people were still alive today. \r\n After they wrote a report they had to pick what to write about on their display board (File folder). This included pictures, timelines, and facts. They also were required to make a bobblehead of the person they wrote about. I think they enjoyed this part the most. many of them added fun details like guitars, microphones, and even Kermit the Frog to Jim Henson.","fullyFundedDate":1738034664186,"projectUrl":"project/for-the-love-of-literacy/9049167/","projectTitle":"For the Love of Literacy","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kabo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7748847_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1736561110289","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7748847"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_19311","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":778,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":31,"percentAsian":10,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":61,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":14,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"24.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.5,"schoolId":19311,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Burnett Creek Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Burnett Creek Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/indiana/tippecanoe-school-corporation/burnett-creek-elementary-school/19311"}
