In physical education as in any classroom it is important to implement technology into the learning environment. By having a projector and a screen to use in my PE classes students will have an increased opportunity for learning. This technology provides the opportunity for me to have less instruction time, and the students to have more time for activity. Videos, GIFs, posters, and other instructional materials that can be projected onto the screen will replace the need for live demonstrations and activity instructions. The use of technology in PE will excite the students by adding a new dynamic to our learning environment. It will allow them to try new and exciting challenges for fitness, manipulative, and dance skills. Furthermore, my students are more likely to participate in activities that are out of their comfort zone because they will feel like all eyes are on the screen instead of on them. Pushing the boundaries of their comfort zones, and completing challenges that allow them to be successful are two critical elements of my classes. A projector and screen will provide better opportunities for these to happen!
