Having scripts, vocal tracks, and director guides has transformed our rehearsal process into a true theater experience. A specific moment that stands out happened during our very first music rehearsal when we played the backing track for the opening ensemble number. Hearing the music while the students held their brand new script books brought the room to life. You could feel the excitement in the room. \r\n\r\nWhen the shipment containing the musical kit first arrived, the students' reaction was magic. As soon as I unboxed the stack script books the classroom erupted into cheers. They flipped through the pages, checking out the character list, and laughing together over the script. Knowing that generous supporters outside our school community cared enough to fund our production gave them an incredible boost of pride and they truly felt like real Broadway performers!\r\n\r\nOur next steps are moving from table reads and vocal practice into full staging and choreography. Over the coming weeks, the students will be blocking scenes, learning dance routines, and set designs. One special moment that stood out was during a small-group reading lesson, when students who often struggle to stay engaged were able to remain focused and actively contribute after snack time.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new vacuum and boxes of snacks, their reactions were priceless. They were excited, surprised, and immediately full of questions. Several students cheered when they realized the snacks were for them, and many commented on how happy it made them feel to know people cared about their classroom. The vacuum was also a big hit! Students proudly volunteered to help keep the room clean, taking ownership of their learning space in a way I hadn't seen before.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our next steps include continuing to build positive classroom routines that support both learning and responsibility. Students will use the snacks to fuel focused work during upcoming lessons, while the vacuum helps us maintain a clean, welcoming environment for hands-on projects and collaborative activities.
