It helped them find it quickly in their folders. They also really loved having whiteboard markers to do their work right in their desk and then wipe it off with the tissues! This really encouraged students to write out their work while doing online math problems. \r\n\r\nMy Algebra 2 students benefited from the graphing calculators and batteries! This allowed all my students to have access to technology needed with parts of the Algebra 2 curriculum like regression lines and matrices! We also used the masking tape often when doing activities where we matched graphs with equations. These materials have already made a meaningful difference in how my students learn and engage with content each day. The colored pens and pencils have helped students stay more organized by allowing them to color-code notes, highlight key ideas, and clearly separate examples from definitions. This visual organization has strengthened their understanding of the material and made studying more effective, especially for students who struggle with traditional note-taking.\r\n\r\nThe movable desks have been especially impactful for students with ADHD and other learning needs. One specific moment that stood out was with a student who had been struggling to stay focused and participate during lessons. With the new desks, he was able to stand while writing and move comfortably as needed, which immediately increased his engagement. He contributed more during class discussions and completed his work with greater confidence and independence. This flexibility has allowed students to learn in ways that better suit their individual needs.\r\n\r\nStudents have also expressed how appreciative they are of the colored paper and pens, sharing that these tools help them identify important information and create stronger study materials. Looking ahead, students will continue using these supplies as we work on our current lesson involving structured note-taking, small-group problem solving, and an upcoming project that requires organizing information and presenting key concepts clearly. Your support has created a more inclusive, engaging, and effective learning environment, and I am deeply grateful for the positive impact it has had on my students.","fullyFundedDate":1759248304137,"projectUrl":"project/from-paper-to-pens-powering-up-our-scho/9575196/","projectTitle":"From Paper to Pens: Powering Up Our School Year","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Harkness","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9297045"},{"teacherId":3023298,"projectId":9580405,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom consumables project. As you can imagine, with 150+ students cycling through my high school math class each day, we go through a lot of materials, so the pencils, tissues, pens, and whiteboard markers are used every hour, every day.\r\n\r\nThe colored paper has been used to print student note packets so they are easy for students to find and keep track of, which is something new your donation has enabled me to do and the students really appreciate. I love saying \"get out your purple note packet\" and my lower level students can easily find it and be ready to learn for the day.\r\n\r\nAnd last, having an organizer for the calculators I check out has been so helpful. They are so excited when I hand them their new, clean filter and I can see the sense of relief on their faces (in some cases they share why they are so eager for the clean replacements). It's been such a joy to watch the students authentically engage with their academic planners, writing in them each day as they capture what they need to work on, cross tasks off as they go, and set goals for their academic year.\r\n\r\nThough initially skeptical (most of them had never used a planner before), they received training from the academic tutors on how to best use a planner, and then they dove right in, each finding the system that worked best for them.\r\n\r\nIt's been a game changer for these kiddos and for me as their teacher. So many of the skills we take for granted (e.g. making to-do lists and checking items off) need to be actively facilitated for struggling students and I know these students are learning skills that will follow them into adulthood.","fullyFundedDate":1747608862835,"projectUrl":"project/plan-for-success/9347231/","projectTitle":"Plan for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Binion","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8479518_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747081248103","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8479518"},{"teacherId":2971243,"projectId":9199970,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the snacks to support our student success! Our academic study hall has a higher population of students facing food insecurity, and your kindness has made an unforgettable impact.
