We use the extra clothing and cleaning supplies every single day to help students feel comfortable, cared for, and ready to learn. One moment that stands out was when a student spilled juice all over their outfit during breakfast. Instead of feeling embarrassed or needing to go home, they were able to pick out a clean, cozy outfit from our new supply and return to the classroom smiling and confident. It was such a small moment, but it made a big impact on their day.\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students were curious and excited. They loved helping sort the new clothing by size and color, and they proudly announced, \"Now we're ready for anything!\" The cleaning supplies also helped us create a fresher, healthier classroom environment—something the children notice and appreciate, even at this young age.\r\nThese resources allow us to handle spills, accidents, and unexpected messes quickly and calmly, without disrupting learning. As we move into our next units of study, students can focus on exploring, creating, and playing without worrying about what will happen if they get messy. With our unit materials stored in one central location, I can rotate resources quickly and smoothly, ensuring students always have what they need for hands‑on exploration. It has also allowed me to keep our classroom clutter‑free, giving students more space to learn, play, and move comfortably. Whether a child has a bathroom accident, a spill during breakfast, or simply needs a fresh start to their day, we now have what we need to help them feel clean, confident, and ready to learn. This has removed stress for both students and families and has allowed children to return to class quickly without embarrassment or discomfort.\r\nThe cleaning supplies have also had a meaningful impact on our daily routines. With young learners, messes are inevitable—but now we can address them immediately and effectively. Our classroom stays fresher, safer, and more inviting, which helps students focus on learning rather than distractions in their environment. It has also supported healthy habits, reinforcing the importance of cleanliness and responsibility in a developmentally appropriate way.\r\nThis project has truly helped us create a Pre‑K space where students feel cared for, supported, and ready to explore. The cozy rugs, soft textures, and Inside Out–themed books and visuals have created a warm, inviting environment that feels safe and familiar to our Pre‑K students.\r\nThis calm corner has quickly become an essential part of our daily routine. Children use it when they feel overwhelmed, overstimulated, or simply need a quiet moment to reset. For some students, it's the first place they go in the morning if they've had a tough start to their day. For others, it's a space to breathe, reflect, and reconnect with their feelings before rejoining the group. The Inside Out characters have been especially powerful—students point to the emotions they're experiencing, helping them communicate in ways that feel accessible and empowering.\r\nSince adding this space, I've seen remarkable growth in emotional awareness and self‑regulation. Students are learning to identify their feelings, choose strategies to calm their bodies, and return to learning with a clearer mind. They are also becoming more empathetic, often encouraging classmates who choose to visit the calm area or offering to read one of the emotion‑themed books together.\r\nThis project has truly transformed our classroom into a place where feelings are acknowledged, respected, and supported. Your generosity has given my students a peaceful refuge and the tools they need to navigate big emotions in healthy, developmentally appropriate ways. I am deeply grateful for your support and for your commitment to the health and well-being of my students. Your kindness has made a meaningful and lasting impact on our classroom, especially during flu season.\r\nMy 15 students are full of curiosity, excitement, and energy. Each day, they come to school eager to learn, explore, and make new discoveries. At the 3K level, students are developing important academic, social, and emotional skills. Being present in the classroom is essential for this growth. When students are healthy and able to attend school consistently, they can fully engage in lessons, build routines, and form strong connections with their peers and teachers.\r\nIn a 3K classroom, children are still learning about personal space, hygiene, and self-care. Because of this, germs can spread quickly, particularly during flu season. Illness often leads to frequent absences, disrupted routines, and missed learning opportunities. It can also impact teachers, making it difficult to maintain the consistency and stability that young learners need to feel safe and supported. These challenges can be stressful for students, families, and educators alike.\r\nThe air purifier you helped provide has been incredibly helpful during this flu season. Knowing that the air in our classroom is being continuously filtered gives us an added layer of protection against germs, viruses, and allergens. This has helped create a healthier classroom environment where students can remain in school and focus on learning rather than being sidelined by sickness. It has also provided reassurance to families, knowing their children are learning in a space that prioritizes health and safety.\r\nWith cleaner air, my students are better able to concentrate, participate in activities, and enjoy their time at school. They are able to build friendships, follow daily routines, and feel comfortable in their learning environment. The air purifier also supports teacher health, which helps ensure that students experience consistent instruction and familiar faces each day. This stability is especially important for young children who thrive on predictable schedules and strong relationships.\r\nYour donation represents far more than a piece of equipment. It represents care, compassion, and a belief in the importance of student wellness. By supporting this project, you have helped create a classroom where students can learn, grow, and thrive, even during flu season.\r\nThank you for believing in my students and for investing in their health and education. Your generosity has truly made a difference, and we are sincerely thankful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1758856757321,"projectUrl":"project/clean-air-for-learning-help-us-build-a/9751633/","projectTitle":"Clean Air for Learning: Help Us Build a Healthier Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. R","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9304034_orig.png?crop=398,398,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1695665622391","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9304034"},{"teacherId":9304034,"projectId":9623890,"letterContent":"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous support of our classroom. Because of you, my 15 amazing 3K-SCIS students will walk into a learning environment that is safe, welcoming, engaging, and filled with opportunities to grow. Your kindness and belief in our students mean more than words can fully express.\r\nMy students are at a very special stage in their lives. At three years old, they are full of curiosity, energy, and a strong desire to explore the world around them. Every day, they come to school excited to learn, ask questions, and discover new things. Creating a classroom that supports this natural curiosity requires more than just lessons—it requires a clean, organized, and nurturing space where students feel safe, valued, and motivated. Your donation has helped make that possible.\r\nBecause of your generosity, we are able to provide essential cleaning supplies such as hand soap, Lysol, a vacuum, and a mop. These items play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy classroom environment. A clean classroom helps prevent the spread of germs, keeps students healthy, and allows them to focus on learning without unnecessary disruptions. Knowing that my students can learn and play in a clean and sanitized space gives me peace of mind and helps families feel confident sending their children to school each day.\r\nYour support also allows me to purchase laminating sheets and Velcro dots, which are invaluable tools for early childhood education. These materials help me create durable, interactive learning visuals that can be used again and again. From hands-on matching activities to visual schedules and learning centers, these resources support different learning styles and help students better understand routines, letters, numbers, and social skills. The ability to reuse these materials ensures that your impact will last well beyond this school year.\r\nIn addition, the prize box items you helped provide will play a meaningful role in encouraging positive behavior and reinforcing hard work. For young learners, positive reinforcement is incredibly powerful. Small rewards can boost confidence, build motivation, and help students develop important social-emotional skills such as perseverance, responsibility, and self-control. These moments of celebration help students feel proud of their accomplishments and excited to continue learning.\r\nYour donation is not just about supplies—it is about opportunity. It is about creating a classroom where students feel safe to take risks, make mistakes, and grow. It is about supporting their academic, social, and emotional development during one of the most important stages of their lives. Because of you, my students will have the tools they need to thrive today and build a strong foundation for the future.\r\nThank you for believing in my students and for choosing to invest in their education.
