We had a few ukuleles in the music room at Bristow when I arrived, but with up to 34 kids per class I knew we had to make it so each kid has a ukulele in hand. Donors choose made that possible.\r\n\r\nSo far my 5th graders have had the most opportunity to try the new ukuleles. We are able to discuss music elements like harmony and delve into vocabulary like chords, strings, frets, and strumming. The great part is that no kid has to sit and wait idly to share a ukulele. They have hands-on experience learning and applying these concepts. They're actively playing songs with multiple chords now. And seeing their enthusiasm and excitement is everyone.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have come up to me eager to play the new ukuleles in particular. The brand is high quality with a rich sound and nice feel in the hands. Many kids have been so excited about learning ukulele that they want to play one at home now, too. That is the best part: knowing that these ukuleles have taken them beyond the classroom now and help them to interact with music in their lives beyond the 4 walls of our room. Thank you for helping fuel their creativity, enthusiasm, and passion. I'm excited to see where it leads them and the great things they'll achieve and memories they'll make.","fullyFundedDate":1752586510124,"projectUrl":"project/ukuleles-for-the-music-room/9439860/","projectTitle":"Ukuleles for the Music Room","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chase","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9161049_orig.jpg?crop=2031,2031,x228,y318&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1691472573722","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9161049"},{"teacherId":9636569,"projectId":9432783,"letterContent":"We are so grateful for your support this school year! Because of you, I am able to give this class a much more hands on approach to learning how to read, and how to add and subtract! The students are loving the new materials we have brought into the room. \r\n The new books we have received has allowed me to teach student social emotional skills and how to cope with anger, frustration, and anxiety. \r\n All the amazing math materials we have received have made learning math so much easier for a lot of students.
