When the boxes arrived, my students were so excited and curious. One student even said, \"you found axolotl fidgets!\".\r\nWe have already put these materials to use in the magnetic notebook paper and student notebook paper has gone into use for learning how to write on paper correctly and practicing letter formation. We have used the Little SPOT of learning books to support our morning meetings. For example, students worked in groups to create norms, Do's and Don'ts or looks/like sounds like for our classroom using a part of one of the Little SPOT of learning books. Our morning meetings focus on our schools 7c's [Craftsmanship, Curiosity, CREW, Critical Thinking, Creativity, Commitment, and Community], all of which we can incorporate Social-Emotional learning lessons. Watching my students actively engage and collaborate with one another reminded me how powerful these resources are.\r\nRight now, we are working on handwriting and letter formation in preparation for learning cursive, and the students are already looking forward to using the math hands-on learning tool to learn about measurement and fractions. I can see their excitement and creativity growing each day, and I know these materials will continue to benefit them all school year. Each of these resources will help each student reach the next level whether it is through access to fidgets to help with focus and regulation, little SPOT books to help them relate to and better understand their emotions, improve their spelling and handwriting, or connect with harder math concepts through the new hands-on tools we now have!\r\nOn behalf of my students and myself, thank you again for believing in us. Then I thought about creating a project. \r\nTo my surprise, the project was funded within 24 hrs, by friends and strangers who wanted to make an impact in my students' lives and mine.
