Our students have been so excited to have our fisrt ever dedicated art space at our school. We've been able to use so many different types of media thanks to your donation of art supplies. \r\n\r\nOne assignment students loved creating was a \"Roll Your Own Joan Miro\". Using dice and a icon choice metric students sketched Spanish artist Joan Miro's symbols on watercolor paper. (Water color paper is expensive for a public school: thank you so much for underwriting us!) They then used Sharpies to trace their symbols, and launched into primary color crayon work. The final step was using a brush and watercolor set to paint over the colors (crayon resist) to fil in the whole paper. I've attached a photo of a few of the final project,\r\n\r\nAnother super popular project was our American artist Charles McGee 3-D sculpture day.
