It really helps motivate them when they know that I have a fully stocked store where they can shop, using the points they earned by making great choices at school.\r\n\r\nIt can be tricky to find items for prizes that appeal to middle school students. This system allows every student, regardless of their family's income, to get the school supplies they need without feeling embarrassed or left out. It has brought a sense of fairness and empowerment to our classroom.\r\nWhen the students first saw the supplies available in the store, their excitement was contagious! Many carefully picked out the items they needed, proud that they could \"purchase\" them with the points they earned. It's been wonderful to watch them take ownership of their learning and feel confident and valued in the process.\r\nNext, we're continuing to use these materials in our history lessons, where students organize notes, complete projects, and explore historical events through interactive activities. These resources came at just the right time, as we launched interactive notebooks this year to move learning off the Chromebook and into more hands-on activities. The shift has been a major success—students are more engaged and excited to show their work, and the simple act of writing and organizing their thoughts in their own notebooks has made a real difference in their focus.\r\n\r\nI'll never forget the first day students received their supplies. There was a genuine sense of pride as they labeled their folders and set up their notebooks. One student who had come to class empty-handed before smiled and said, \"Now I can finally keep up.\" That moment showed me just how meaningful your support is—not just in providing materials, but in building confidence and belonging.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we'll continue to use these interactive notebooks daily as we dive deeper into new lessons and projects. The resources you provided allow all students to participate equally and feel prepared, which has already transformed the tone of our classroom. I then placed them on a table to make it easier for the students to choose them. The kids were so excited. I wish you could have seen their faces. They love new books and these books are even more special. It has really kept the students and myself organized. This year I am at a new school and I have 42 students per class period. So organization is key. The students loved the wooden bookshelves, as they are not the standard metal shelves the school has. They also love the vibrant colors of the materials to help them stay organized. Having a permeant home to keep materials is allowing quicker transition times between activities and cleaning up after an activity.\r\n With easy access students can find the scissors for science labs that involve cutting out labels to add to a graphic organizer. The color pencils help with making those graphic organizers beautiful and labels of charts easier to find. All 42 students now have access to headphones if needed for a test or silent activity. The headphones can let the students listen to the questions for a better understanding before answering. The posters have aided in exploration and students asking questions about the women on the posters. It has guided us into many great conversations. The science trays are beneficial for my preparation everyday. Trays are provided with materials the students will need for a specific activity, that can not be found on the shelf. In addition my students were able to get the understanding that there is kind people in the world willing to help strangers accomplish a goal.","fullyFundedDate":1726759034748,"projectUrl":"project/swinging-into-science/8759971/","projectTitle":"Swinging into Science!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Drew","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8129581_orig.jpg?crop=1848,1848,x906,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726167853472","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8129581"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_70501","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1431,"numTeachers":60,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":21,"percentWhite":15,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":44,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"23.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":70501,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Brian & Teri Cram Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Brian & Teri Cram Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nevada/clark-county-school-district/brian-teri-cram-middle-school/70501"}
