The excitement was palpable as they eagerly dove into customizing the covers to make them truly their own. I then had students in 1st-8th assemble the sketchbooks together. This taught them how to bind their customized folders using binder rings, which instantly gave them a sense of ownership over their new art tools.\r\n\r\nSince that day, we have dedicated every art class to working exclusively in these sketchbooks. The goal is to help them understand how professional artists use sketchbooks as vital tools for ideation and development. Moving forward, the students will continue practicing various techniques, including using paints in their books. The new trucks are a hit. We have observed truck races happening daily! Our preschool friends love having the very bouncing basketballs to use. They practice their dribbling skills frequently. It has been a delight to see our students creating artwork together with their friends.\r\n\r\nThe chalkboard flowers have been such a nice addition to our fence that we are thinking of other ways to beautify our space. We are starting plans to create a music wall and a STEM wall on the fence as well! \r\n\r\nThanks again for your support! They were excited when they first saw the boxes delivered to the classroom but when they saw the desks put together the next day, they cheered. They love being able to move their desks together during choose time to share items easier. The cupholders are an awesome addition to hold their water bottles or mild cartons during breakfast. We have had fewer spills since they started using their new desks. \r\nOne thing I did not anticipate was how some students roll their desks to grab a pair of scissors or to skip the commercials from our visual timer on YouTube. They are able to do this without disrupting their work on top of their desks. \r\nWe are so grateful for your generosity.
