Because of your generosity, my students had the incredible opportunity to observe metamorphosis firsthand rather than simply reading about it in a textbook. Using our butterfly habitat and live caterpillars, students spent several weeks carefully observing, documenting, and discussing each stage of the butterfly life cycle. They watched in amazement as tiny caterpillars grew larger each day, formed chrysalises, and eventually emerged as beautiful butterflies. One of the most memorable moments of the year was releasing the butterflies into our school garden. The excitement, wonder, and pride on my students' faces as they watched the butterflies take flight was truly unforgettable.\r\n\r\nYour support also allowed us to raise tadpoles in our classroom and observe their transformation into frogs. Students eagerly checked on them each day, noticing new changes such as the growth of legs and the gradual disappearance of their tails. They recorded observations in science journals, made predictions about what would happen next, and connected what they were seeing to our lessons about animal life cycles. Seeing these changes happen right before their eyes helped bring science to life in a way that no picture or video ever could.\r\n\r\nWhen the caterpillars and tadpoles first arrived, the classroom buzzed with excitement. Students rushed in each morning asking for updates and carefully checked the habitats throughout the day. Their curiosity inspired meaningful conversations, questions, and learning opportunities. As we move forward, students will continue building on this experience by studying other living things, comparing life cycles, and exploring how plants and animals grow and change. Thank you for giving my students an authentic, hands-on science experience that sparked curiosity, encouraged observation, and created lasting memories. Your generosity made learning come alive, and we are so grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1772905852974,"projectUrl":"project/living-science-creatures-that-change-be/10056832/","projectTitle":"Living Science: Creatures That Change Before Our Eyes","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bowman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10417729"},{"teacherId":9175787,"projectId":9487494,"letterContent":"The desk you so generously donated to our classroom has truly transformed our learning environment! From the moment it arrived, this table has become the heart of our classroom community. We use it throughout the day for everything—eating breakfast together, practicing addition and subtraction, learning to read and write, creating art projects and crafts, and even building with Legos. It has given us a central space where we can come together as a class in small groups so all the children can receiving direct and one on one attention as much as possible, and I see daily how much of a difference this makes in our learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the desk first arrived, my students were absolutely thrilled! They had been asking me for weeks to find a table where we could all work together. I had found one on Facebook market but it was a little bit old and its shape was not very useful.\r\n Before that, we had to push two small tables together, which was a lot of work and didn't give us nearly enough room. Now, we have this beautiful, sturdy desk where everyone can gather comfortably. The excitement on their faces when they saw it for the first time was priceless—they immediately wanted to start using it for everything!\r\n\r\nJust this past Friday, we accomplished something wonderful around our new desk. Working in small groups, we completed 100 additions together! The desk made it so easy for students to collaborate, share strategies, and help each other decompose numbers. It was smooth, engaging, and joyful—exactly what learning should be. Next, we'll be using the desk for our multiplication lessons with our boards, and I know it's going to be just as amazing. Thank you for making this possible and for believing in our classroom. Your generosity is making a real difference in my students' education every single day!
