What may have looked like simple supplies on a list have turned into powerful, hands-on learning moments for my 2nd graders.\r\n\r\nThe first day I introduced the double-sided number line boards, the room buzzed with excitement. Instead of just talking about counting, skip-counting, and place value, students were sliding their fingers across their own boards, solving problems, and proudly holding them up to show their thinking. Even some of my quieter students were eager to participate because they had something tangible in their hands. It shifted math from \"watch me\" to \"try it yourself.\"\r\n\r\nThe write-on clock faces have been a game changer for teaching time. We recently worked on telling time to the nearest five minutes, and instead of staring at a worksheet, students physically moved the hands on their clocks and practiced setting times I called out. When one student exclaimed, \"Ohhhh! Now I get it!\"—that was your impact in action.\r\n\r\nAnd the decodable readers? Watching students gain confidence as they successfully read entire books independently is one of the greatest gifts. When they realized, \"I can read this all by myself!\" the pride on their faces was priceless.\r\n\r\nWe'll integrate time management into daily routines and continue strengthening fluency with small-group reading using the decodable texts. The dry erase boards will continue to support daily math warm-ups and problem-solving challenges.\r\n\r\nYou didn't just provide materials—you provided confidence, engagement, and opportunities for my students to truly understand what they are learning.\r\n\r\nFrom our small school in South Wayne, please know that your generosity is seen, felt, and appreciated every single day. One memorable moment was when a group of students worked collaboratively to design a tall structure that could stand without falling. This hands-on experience allowed students to practice persistence, teamwork, and critical thinking in a meaningful way.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. Their faces lit up as they eagerly asked questions and explored how the pieces fit together. Many students jumped right into building, while others carefully examined the materials and shared ideas with their peers. The excitement carried into thoughtful discussions as students explained their designs and proudly shared what they created.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for my students include using these STEM tools to support upcoming lessons focused on problem-solving and early engineering concepts.
