I can explain the impact it has on our community to get books in the hands of these young learners. I've been immensely blessed by the Donors Choose platform and have a large classroom library, so books are easily assessable during the school year, however we know during summer break they are not, so being able to provide them one to read over summer break makes our hearts happy. \r\nAt the end of the year, I challenge my students to read the novel we chose and bring back summary packet of all the chapters. At that point I offer them a McDonalds gift card if they complete the challenge. You'd be surprised at how many students take me up on that challenge. When given the opportunity to learn, they simply can't help themselves. I love it, and I love every single donor that has helped but those opportunities in their hands.","fullyFundedDate":1778260393287,"projectUrl":"project/summer-reading/10207844/","projectTitle":"Summer Reading!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Garcia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5081695_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1522336453124","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/savannah-garcia"},{"teacherId":2933788,"projectId":10207903,"letterContent":"This DonorsChoose project made a meaningful impact on my 4th grade dual language students by giving them the opportunity to choose and enjoy books that they could call their own. This encouraged them to take pride in their books and taught them the importance of caring for their personal belongings. Having their own books to read and keep helped my students feel valued, motivated, and excited about reading.\r\n\r\nThank you to DonorsChoose and the generous donors who made this experience possible.
