All students deserve to have the same learning opportunities, and I would love to give our dual language students access to more books, reading logs, colorful pens and snacks for the summer. These books will also help our students transition to speakers of English while also honoring and keeping close to their culture and native language. They are amazing students that just need opportunities to take the lead with their learning. The more children read, the better the chance to increase their fluency, comprehension, accuracy, and LOVE for reading. Esperanza Rising and Dragon in a Bag chapter books will show my students how important and the enjoyment reading can be.
