I read a book about a fart making a friend and it was probably the best discussion we've had about making friends and what makes a good friend. My students are happy to read books about adhd when it doesn't look like a disease- they have been able to have conversations about what it is and what helps them manage and feel good. Overall self confidence has increased by changing the lenses students use to view themselves. \r\nThank you so much.","fullyFundedDate":1744242988977,"projectUrl":"project/feelings-matter-books-edition/9237914/","projectTitle":"Feelings Matter : Books Edition","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. M.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/985249"},{"teacherId":1895019,"projectId":9073129,"letterContent":"Our clubs time is a time for students to explore their personal interest in groups with other children. Because we're a center based special education school, we don't have extracurricular activities for the students because they're coming from 23 different school districts. Students and I were so excited to receive the items donated. When packages arrived they wanted to do a \"youtube reveal\" it was hilarious watching them interact and helped build excitement for our new classroom.\r\n We have moved over winter break and new items are in place to help organize and decorate the classroom. Students love the new peg board we use to hang headphones- this has led to less frustration with unknotting them. These also hold some supplies for students to use. They've enjoyed making holiday bracelets and Detroit Lions friendship bracelets this season. We went with a simple black and white theme in the classroom to make it less distracting and increase learning. The daisy rug is one my favorite things- really ties the room together and gives students a softer place to play games and puzzles. Kids like to say our new decor is \"disco balls, daises, and Detroit!\" Students are proud of our new space and really have taken ownership and pride in our room.
