When students are comfortable, they are able to sustain reading for longer periods of time. Sustained reading is so important for children, this reading time increases students' vocabulary, comprehension and all-around knowledge. I have a few alternative seating options, but these couches will make reading so much more comfortable for my students, and I think this will help increase their reading time. Adults do not sit at tables and desks when they sit down to read a good book, like us, children like to curl up with a good book on a nice couch or chair. Please give my students more options for comfortable seating.
