I was able to get everything assembled and organized heading into summer and it has made a world of difference this school year already! My students can appreciate it too, as the rack and bins have decreased the wait time in between activities by having all the tools and manipulatives prepped and sorted with a designated spot in the room for them to be stored. Each bin has all the necessary materials for our math units in them making it quick and easy to access which really makes our day room smooth. We have been able to rotate the play items/theme each month in the imaginative play center due to your donations. The kids have loved role playing, sharing, and turn taking with the doctor kit, baby doll food, house cleaning set, and toolbox.\r\nWe were able to elevate our holiday parties and crafts with the balloon pump, paper plates, and cotton swabs so far. We used the pump to blow up heart shaped balloons and number balloons to use as photo ops for both our Valentine's Day and 100th Day of School celebrations. We've used the paper plates to make a leprechaun craft for St. Patrick's Day and the cotton swabs for a q-tip painting of the earth for Earth Day. The mod podge will soon be used for our Mother's Day craft/gift as well! \r\nIt has been wonderful being able to switch out centers, make fun crafts, and decorate to make lasting memories in my students' education, all thanks to you! Before this project, a lot of my students did not have headphones and some students had headphones that broke. They have loved having headphones for their Chromebooks to complete their assignments and for when they have free time on the Chromebooks. My students were so excited the morning I surprised them with it in the classroom for the first time. They love the smileys and all the different colors that tie into our classroom theme. They really enjoyed getting to choose their own smiley to sit on and have done a great job taking pride and responsibility in keeping our carpet clean!\r\nWe use our rug every single day. It is a home for our calendar time, ELA and math lessons, center stations, and brain breaks. It is the main focal point of our classroom and included in all of our special moments (we've taken a lot of class pictures on our rug!) Our new rug has really helped us practice the concept of personal space by its purposeful design that has built in sit spots for each student to easily focus and learn. The smileys are the perfect size for students to comfortably sit and still have space to adjust and walk around others if needed. I am so excited to have this rug in my classroom for years to come. This would not have been possible without the help of you generous donors, so I'm giving you my deepest THANK YOU!!","fullyFundedDate":1729380303605,"projectUrl":"project/all-smiles-for-kindergarten/8623544/","projectTitle":"All Smiles for Kindergarten","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7874851_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y146&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1688180264869","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7874851"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_85935","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":223,"numTeachers":15,"percentFrplEligible":65,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":85,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 2","studentTeacherRatio":"14.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":65.9,"schoolId":85935,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bascom Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bascom Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/labrae-local-school-district/bascom-elementary-school/85935"}
