With the significant snowfall our area experienced this winter, the timing of the project could not have been more perfect. Students were able to enjoy a hot cup of noodles or hot chocolate while relaxing and talking with peers and staff. What began as a simple act of providing warmth quickly turned into a meaningful moment of community and care within our school.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the setup—with hot chocolate, snacks, and winter hats and gloves available—their reactions were overwhelmingly positive. Many were surprised that the school had created something just for them to feel comfortable and supported. The smiles, gratitude, and excitement in the room made it clear how much these small comforts meant, especially during such cold and snowy weeks.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we plan to continue using these resources to support students during particularly cold days and stressful times during the school year. Our goal is to maintain this welcoming space where students can recharge, feel supported, and know that their school community cares about their well-being. These moments of connection help build stronger relationships between students and staff, which ultimately supports a more positive and focused learning environment.\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly grateful to our donors for helping make this possible and for giving our students a warm moment of comfort when they needed it most.","fullyFundedDate":1769460150935,"projectUrl":"project/cup-of-comfort/10049567/","projectTitle":"Cup of Comfort","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. D","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1849452"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_80448","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1699,"numTeachers":150,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":17,"percentBlack":31,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":42,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"11.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":56.0,"schoolId":80448,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Atlantic City High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Atlantic City High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/atlantic-city-public-school-district/atlantic-city-high-school/80448"}
