We get to play with them?\" and \"That's the exact kit I wanted, but I couldn't get!\" Thank you so much for making it possible to have those moments of joys at the start of the school year, when the skills they need to work on take just that much more effort as they get back into the school routine. I had multiple students persevere through activities that were challenging for them just to have the chance to use these Lego sets. \r\n\r\nThe first set that was opened was the Space Rover set. Once the students had finished their work it was a perfect chance to work on sharing, turn taking, following directions and talk about what was needed if you were going out into space. One student became very insistent because the astronaut needed his visor shield for his helmet since they were going into space and stated, \"He can't breathe the air without that!\" It gave us a chance to talk about why that might be and another student to work on \"why\" questions during a motivating activity.\r\n\r\nThe beekeeping set was a hit with my younger students. One insisted that after watering the flowers the bees needed some water too and let them \"drink\" from the watering can. We talked about some different ways you can take care of bees. This was a great motivator for a student that had to do a challenging activity, but kept trying because of these Legos.
