Their final piece was to create an artist statement with specific animal and habitat information as well as their materials and process. Many shared stories about babies in their own families and how excited they were to make something that would keep another child warm.\r\nThe highlight of our project came when we donated the finished blankets to a local family resource center. Seeing the appreciation from the staff and knowing their work would directly help families in our community was an unforgettable moment for the students.\r\nOur next step is to continue exploring service learning by identifying new ways to use our creativity to give back.
