My kindergarteners were so excited to see all of the new stories added to our classroom library. Since these books highlight different cultures, backgrounds, families, and experiences, my students immediately began pointing out things they could relate to. Hearing them say things like, \"That's like my family!\" or recognize something from their own culture was so special. These books are helping make our classroom community feel even more welcoming and giving every child the opportunity to see themselves represented in the stories we read.\r\n\r\nReading is such an important part of our kindergarten day. During read-alouds, we are learning so much more than just how to read words. We practice identifying characters and settings, making predictions, retelling important events, learning new vocabulary, making connections between the story and our own lives, and discussing what a story can teach us. These new books also give us opportunities to talk about our similarities and differences and teach students to appreciate and learn from one another. I teach at the third most diverse school in Georgia and in the most diverse school district in the state, so having books that reflect the many cultures and experiences represented in our classroom is incredibly meaningful.\r\n\r\nI am so grateful to every donor who helped make this project possible. Seeing my students excited about reading and watching their faces light up when they recognize themselves, their families, or their experiences in a book reminds me just how important representation is. You have helped me create a classroom library where my kindergarteners can learn about the world, learn about one another, and feel proud of who they are. Thank you so much for supporting my students and helping me create a classroom where every child feels welcomed, valued, and represented. ❤️Thank you, it means more than you know.","fullyFundedDate":1786471406026,"projectUrl":"project/books-that-reflect-every-child-inclusiv/10370320/","projectTitle":"Books That Reflect Every Child, Inclusive Books and Hearts","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Boyer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10107032_orig.jpg?crop=1052,1052,x59,y114&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1783540249670","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10107032"},{"teacherId":7101568,"projectId":10354570,"letterContent":"My students were so excited to see the packages arrive! These tables create a welcoming outdoor environment where teachers can take a break while still maintaining visibility and accessibility. The umbrellas are especially helpful in warmer months, reducing heat exposure and making outdoor duty more pleasant and sustainable throughout the school year.\r\n\r\nAir purifiers in the classroom are a vital support for teachers with asthma or other respiratory sensitivities. By filtering out allergens, dust, and airborne pollutants, these devices help maintain a cleaner and healthier air quality, reducing the likelihood of asthma flare-ups or breathing discomfort.
