My students learn best when they are able to manipulate and experience the topics that they are learning about. These resources would help to create a more differentiated and hands-on experience for my second graders. All resources are easily adaptable to what is needed at the time. One of my favorite activities is to allow my students to draw and map out their thinking using whiteboards and even their desks, which requires a substantial stash of dry erase markers. Students need to know that math can be fun. With these resources, I intend to show my students that not all math learning needs to come from a textbook. I have asked for math games that will allow students to practice foundational math standards in a way that is cooperative and fun. Manipulatives will help students apply the concepts they have learned in class in a hands-on way.
