This classroom project provided dry erase markers and boards to my classroom. Our old ones were peeled and worn. We use them multiple times each day for all subjects. My students are so excited and proud to have brand new materials!\r\n\r\nIn addition to the dry erase boards we also received dry erase math organizers which help us organize and show our thinking, important skills my budding mathematicians need. \r\n\r\nFinally, we received the mini flashlights so we could have some reading fun! When my students meet their weekly goal we often have Flashlight Fridays! We bring stuffed animals, find a friend and a cozy place to read, make the room dark and read using our flashlights! We also got clay for science we can't wait to create our creatures when we study Inheritances and traits! \r\nI love that my donors get a little peek into our classroom by contributing to your project, so I'm adding some photos. It is hard to explain the how much the materials my classroom received helped me. Writing was a big part of my classroom this past year. We journaled quite a bit, it helped some of my kids express themselves and for others it gave them a chance to be creative and find a voice. We often shared our journals in front of the class so they were able to practice their speaking as well. \r\n The notebooks were very handy for my subjects, it helped us keep things organized and gave them a way to take notes, show their work and keep things in order. The dry erase markers were invaluable. We used them every day. They were especially used for math, students knew that when I said to take out their math tools that their dry erase markers were on of the essential tools. \r\n For some, notebooks and markers may not seem like such a big deal but when you do not have them, there is a big difference. Although, some of my kids were not the best at keeping their markers together I had enough to give to students when their markers dried out. I truly appreciate the support.","fullyFundedDate":1726687968296,"projectUrl":"project/writing-opens-a-whole-new-world/8792736/","projectTitle":"Writing opens a whole new world.","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Angel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9164836_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751723072877","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9164836"},{"teacherId":9617508,"projectId":8629124,"letterContent":"I cannot express my gratitude for your overwhelmingly generous donation to the children in my classroom. I have 26 children this year and more than half are second language learners. Many entered school shy, and in the silent stage. They did not understand or speak English. \r\nKeira, because of your huge donation and your even bigger heart, these children were able to express their feelings and thoughts with the multiple materials I was able to provide them. The best part of our days are when our student's eyes light up when they feel successful. You have provided ways for them to draw, write and tell their stories. The document camera has already transformed my teaching! I didn't realize until now how much I had been struggling to show exactly what I wanted my students to do. With this tool, I can show students in real time exactly what I expect and how to successfully complete a task. This in turn allows them to go off and complete tasks independently with a higher degree of success. \r\n\r\nFurthermore, the file folders have also already make the \"Our Best Work\" section of our classroom much neater and tidier.
