I've seen kids extremely self conscious of massive holes in their pants, worried about others seeing their underwear or making fun of them. Before your donation we only had access to limited sizes- so even though students would get a new pair of clothes, they often were too tight and making students feel uncomfortable or as if they were \"too big\" for first grade clothing. It broke my heart to see them so self-conscious. Now every student who needs clothing can get it in their size! Their faces absolutely light up with joy, their mood and confidence improving drastically. \r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, ALL students have access to fresh, clean clothes whenever they need them. With your donation, our students can breathe better and easier, which leads to happier, healthier students and increased learning. When we first plugged in the air purifier it read 500 PM2.5 which is pretty much the maximum of air particles it could read. After a few weeks of use, it is now down to under 100. There used to be a strong odor from our classroom bathroom, but the air purifier has helped the smell immensely. So much of math is very abstract to a six-year-old, but actually being able to hold the math in their hands has made it so much more accessible.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have completed our class set so now students aren't left sitting and waiting for when others are finished and they can use them. We now have enough for everyone! The ten-sided dice are my personal favorite as they're a game-changer to no longer have to deal with cards getting lost and trying to locate which stack they are missing from. With these supplies, we're able to implement fun, engaging STEM activities across all subjects. \r\nThanks to you, our ELA lessons have also blossomed to include so much more than just lectures and workbooks as we incorporate STEM activities aligned with content. As we read books about the sun, moon, and stars, students benefit from and enjoy seeing an actual physical representation of the sun, Earth, and planets with the orbiting solar system display. Along with growing plants themselves to understand the importance of the sun to living things.
