We didn't waste any time using it. During the last week of school we completed an art project about symmetry. We made beautiful butterflies with tempera paint, pipe cleaners, sequins, and pom-poms. The kids were excited to walk their projects over to the drying rack so they could dry in peace. Everyone's butterfly dried quickly and they were able to take them home that same day!\r\n\r\nI am looking forward to using the drying rack for many years to come. Whether we are using these buckets for sensory bins, \"take-apart\" tubs, or organized task boxes, your generosity has given my students the tools to feel like real scientists. They were most excited to use the \"Calming Corner\" tent. Two students are chosen daily to read in the tent for quiet time after lunch, but several students have to come to school with heavy emotions and found the quiet, calming tent a safe place to rest and recharge. The class especially enjoys using the giant timer to self-manage their time in the tent. They also love using the sensory toys inside the tent as well.\r\n\r\nWe use the writing composition books often. They make for great practice in penmanship skills, as well as drawing and sentence writing. Our classroom looks like a welcome place to come learn thanks to the new bulletin board paper and border trim. The new calendar serves as a focal point of our classroom and is where we sit and start the beginning of each day. \r\n\r\nWith the holidays fast approaching, the class will have many new opportunities to use the composition books to share all of their joyful experiences with each other.
