The moment they received them, their faces lit up with excitement. Some immediately put them on, proudly showing off their new college gear. For many of my students, this was the first time they owned something that connected them to a university, making the idea of college feel more real and within reach. The shirts have sparked meaningful conversations about their dreams, their future goals, and what it means to work hard to achieve them.\r\n\r\nWe've been using these shirts as more than just clothing—they're a symbol of possibility. Each week, we have \"College Shirt Day,\" where my students wear their Cal gear and share something new they've learned about college. It has led to incredible discussions about different careers, perseverance, and the steps they can take to reach higher education. One student even said, \"I feel like I'm already in college when I wear this!\" Looking ahead, we'll continue fostering a college-going mindset through goal-setting activities, discussions about different universities, and visits from guest speakers who share their own college experiences.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made a lasting impact, and I hope you know how much it means to these young scholars. Thank you for believing in them and for giving them a tangible reminder that college is in their future.
