My students come from various backgrounds that I have a hard time wrapping my brain around. With their struggles, I wanted to provide my students with ways to get their wiggles out without breaking the bank. The bands will be used for my students who just can't sit still (which is more than half). My students have also had 3 different 2nd grade teachers and I want to be the best and last. The calming strips will help all my students relax throughout the day and help the ones who like to pick at anything in front of them. These kids give so much love and I am hoping to make their school environment as comfortable as possible, due to them losing almost a year and a half in a school setting. With that being said, over 75% of my students are not at a 2nd grade level in reading, writing, and math. Out of my 21, I also have 7 English Language learners. Starting out as a first year teacher, any advice and resources are greatly appreciated!
