My students are vibrant, curious learners who are eager to grow as readers, but many are still developing the foundational skills they need to feel confident. Because of your generosity, we received a collection of decodable books, dry erase pockets with markers, an anchor chart holder, and erasable pens that are already transforming our learning environment. \r\n\r\nThe decodable books have quickly become some of the most loved items in our room. These texts align with the Science of Reading and give students meaningful practice with phonics skills. Having books they decode has grown their confidence tremendously in just a few short months. One of my favorite moments was hearing a student who has struggled all year suddenly beam and say, \"I read that book all by myself!\" Moments like that are happening more often now that students have books that meet them exactly where they are. \r\n\r\nThe dry erase pockets and markers have made small-group instruction more interactive and engaging. Students love playing games with the phonics skills they are building. The anchor chart holder has given us a dedicated place to display the phonics charts we use daily so that students can access these resources to support their learning. Another huge confidence booster. \r\n\r\nStudents use \"author's pens\" during writing time to publish their stories, and the pride they take in their work has been incredible. Reluctant writers are turning into eager authors simply because they have tools that make the writing process feel special and achievable. \r\n\r\nThese materials are helping students build the skills they need to not only read, but to believe in themselves as readers.","fullyFundedDate":1756135590361,"projectUrl":"project/growing-readers-one-book-at-a-time/9546588/","projectTitle":"Growing Readers: One Book at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mack","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10142919_orig.jpg?crop=957,957,x1058,y705&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754583084744","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10142919"},{"teacherId":9636142,"projectId":8608170,"letterContent":"Your generosity truly means the world to us.\r\nIn a community where resources are often thin, your support provides more than just supplies or funding—it gives our students the tools they need to dream bigger.
