When the lightboards arrived at the art room, I let the third grade students do their version of an \"unboxing\". Having them be the first to open and use the lightboards (at their desks! yay!) fueled their interest and perseverance to trace some pretty complicated stuff! The room got quiet, and they locked in. It was amazing to witness.\r\n\r\nHaving these tools at our disposal has also created options in the way I am able to write art lessons. Now students can confidently add fonts, embellishments, and imagery that will help solidify their vision to completion, all while building and strengthening their line making ability. Lightboards also create the opportunity to add words or writing to printmaking lessons. Having young students understand the mirror effect of making a print with letters and words can be difficult, for myself included! Now I can incorporate text and imagery into many different projects, without the fear of not being able to execute it well across ALL grades. \r\n\r\nHaving Donor's Choose as an option in my teaching arsenal, has sparked something in me to keep dreaming, to keep thinking of previously unattainable ways of igniting creativity in a child. I'm so happy you believed in this project enough to fund it. Thank you again, I'm looking forward to a brighter future.","fullyFundedDate":1778020152206,"projectUrl":"project/portable-rechargeable-lightboards/10220493/","projectTitle":"Portable Rechargeable Lightboards","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5137172"},{"teacherId":1563565,"projectId":10230126,"letterContent":"The students of Adaire have been able to use this equipment immediately upon its arrival. Recess and Intramural clubs have been revitalized because of your contribution to the project. Particularly, my 5th-8th-grade Intramural Wiffle Ball group. When they first saw the new set of wiffle balls and the new strike zone, they were hyped to start playing. Before this, I was using an old mini trampoline as a strike zone. Needless to say, they felt more official with this equipment. \r\n\r\nThe playground balls we received were perfect to use for recess and events the school had planned in late May. We decided to have kickball games for all of the grade levels, and this equipment helps make it possible. At recess, students use it for more kickball and games like 4 Square and Bounce Ball. This is all a great foundation going into the next school year.","fullyFundedDate":1778095431872,"projectUrl":"project/2526-vision-replacing-aging-equipment/10230126/","projectTitle":"25/26 Vision - Replacing Aging Equipment","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Meile","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1563565_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1511798435243","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-meile"},{"teacherId":271677,"projectId":9268449,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity and investment in my students' STEM education. We are so grateful for the opportunity to use new and exciting technology that challenges our students to problem-solve and work together.\r\n\r\nIt has been very fun for my students to figure out what each Cubelet does and how they function when connected together in different ways. It's nice that the set can be used with or without an additional device so it has served as a great off-screen coding option for my STEM classes and small-group enrichment sessions I have throughout the week.\r\n\r\nWe will continue to utilize the Cubelet robot during our current coding curriculum unit and now that the students have a good feel for how it works, they will start to work through the set of challenge cards. Your contribution went to pencil caddies that sit on the tables so the students are able to share supplies like pencils and crayons. The students love the smelly markers. They love using the smelly markers and telling what smell they are. \r\n The classroom favorite spot to sit is on the couches! We have a couch in the front of the room by the carpet and then two chairs in the library. The go to spot in our classroom is the comfy chairs in the library.
