Their joy stayed with me even after we finished. They kept asking when we could play again and whether we could have more word games like Scrabble.\r\n\r\nThis was my first DonorsChoose project to be approved, so your support means more to me than I can easily express. You helped bring something special into our classroom, and seeing my students learn, laugh, and ask for more made me truly grateful. Their smiles and curiosity showed how much they enjoyed exploring different stories or genre. These books have made reading more fun and realistic because of the choices of books I have. We use these books for read-aloud in the morning and after specials. We also use it for lessons on story elements, book studies, and main ideas and supporting as our latest goal. Students also enjoy group activities where they identify characters, settings, problems, and solutions or other lessons based on the book related to the goal like main idea or story elements.\r\n\r\nThese books help make our lessons more engaging while building student's vocabulary, comprehension, critical thinking and love of reading. Having variety of books allows students to explore different stories, share ideas, and strengthen their readings. We still need more books but having these new books create excitement and motivation to read more.\r\n\r\nFrom me and the rest of my students, thank you for your generosity and for believing in my students' potential. Just know that your support has provided more than just books; it has given my students opportunities to grow, explore, and imagine. I especially made them available on big testing days to recognize the hard work and effort my students put into their tests, regardless of their scores they received. I also provide snacks at the end of the week to celebrate students who come to school everyday and continue to try their best. Most importantly, I share snacks to any students who may simply need something to fill in their stomach especially during afternoon playground in which they started to feel hungry.\r\nMy students were so amazed when I opened the package in front of them. They excitedly asked, \"Is it really true that somebody donated snacks for us?\" Seeing their excitement reminded me how meaningful an act of generosity can be to a child.\r\nThe snacks have also become a positive way for me to encourage perseverance and effort. I remind my students that mistakes are normal part of learning and what matters is they are willing to try again, ask for help and keep learning.
