Our new regulation equipment has already made a big difference. Students use the trampoline, swing, and balance beam to take short breaks when they need to reset. It's been great watching them figure out what helps them calm down. Some students jump it out, while others prefer to swing. One student who normally has prolonged aggressive outbursts was able to reset quicker. \r\n\r\nMy students were so excited to see the new equipment in our room. The trampoline caught their attention right away since it was something familiar, but once they tried the swing pod, it quickly became everyone's favorite.\r\n\r\nNow that the space is set up, we're teaching students how to use it, as well as recognizing when their bodies need movement, deep pressure, or a calm space. We're tying it into our lessons on self-regulation and mindfulness, so they can build these skills and use them wherever they go.","fullyFundedDate":1759576887328,"projectUrl":"project/a-room-to-regulate/9780488/","projectTitle":"A Room to Regulate","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Shinn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8474674"},{"teacherId":8536980,"projectId":9153665,"letterContent":"The donated books will give my 4th graders the opportunity to explore new worlds, ideas, and perspectives while strengthening their reading skills. With a wider variety of engaging texts at their fingertips, students will be able to build fluency, deepen comprehension, and develop a love of reading that extends beyond the classroom. Having access to books that match their reading levels and interests ensures that every child feels motivated, confident, and successful on their educational journey.\r\n\r\nThe addition of student whiteboards will also make a powerful difference in daily learning. Whiteboards provide a hands-on way for students to practice math problems, respond to reading questions, and share their thinking during lessons. They encourage active participation, immediate feedback, and collaborative learning, which helps every student stay engaged. Together, the books and whiteboards will create a more interactive, supportive, and dynamic classroom where students can thrive academically and creatively.","fullyFundedDate":1741834788017,"projectUrl":"project/help-provide-books-classroom-materials/9153665/","projectTitle":"Help Provide Books & Classroom Materials for 3rd Graders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Suniga","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8536980_orig.png?crop=716,716,x0,y114&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1696407426789","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/psuni"},{"teacherId":3024226,"projectId":8228022,"letterContent":"The funded request for storage bins has completely transformed the classroom. My simple goal was to organize the many materials used daily, and the impact has been profound.\r\n\r\nPreviously, clutter and disorganization could distract students, making it hard to find what they needed and feel comfortable. Now, with everything neatly stored, the room is a calm, orderly space that promotes focus and independence.\r\n\r\nThis project also reinforces a key life skill from the school's AVID program: organization. By using the new bins, students are actively learning to take responsibility for their space and materials.\r\n\r\nUltimately, this donation did more than tidy up a room. It created a more effective learning environment and helped build essential habits for future success. These vertical whiteboards are fantastic learning tools that are accessible to my young students and encourage many different kinds of engagement. \r\n We use them in interactive math lessons in counting, adding, subtracting, problem solving and number patterns. Students in groups of three come up and solve problems collaboratively.\r\n In a science engineering project, the students used to vertical whiteboards to diagram their group's prototype of a game for recess. Each student added to their diagram by writing labels and adding more details.\r\n We've also used the vertical white boards to do shared writing activities. The most recent one was a class narrative story about our walking field trip. Small groups worked together to brainstorm, write sentences and create stories. The vertical format allowed everyone to see and contribute easily. \r\n As a teacher of young learners, I am absolutely thrilled to see how these vertical whiteboards promote active participation, collaboration, and visual learning, all of which are key for engaging my first graders.","fullyFundedDate":1741971777549,"projectUrl":"project/the-whiteboard-classroom-fostering-acti/9159038/","projectTitle":"The Whiteboard Classroom: Fostering Active Thinking and Problem Solving","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Akiona","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6931615_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y386&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727483508958","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6931615"},{"teacherId":9919301,"projectId":9104863,"letterContent":"Thank you for investing in our PSAP program for my students.Your contribution has a direct impact on all of my students.
