Because of you, our students now have 10 brand new chess sets and timers—and the impact has already been amazing!\r\n\r\nThese resources were specifically for our competitive chess team, and we are so excited to finally have high-quality equipment to play on. From the moment the materials arrived, the excitement in the room was immediate. Students gathered around, eager to open the boxes, set up the boards, and start playing. Some of them had never used a chess timer before, so learning how to manage their time through blitz or regular game added a whole new level of strategy and energy to our matches.\r\n\r\nOur season has ended so now we are currently using the new chess sets during our chess club meetings and in structured competitive practice sessions. One standout moment was when we hosted a student vs. teacher chess tournament. It was an incredible experience—students were fully engaged, showing great sportsmanship, and absolutely loved the opportunity to challenge their teachers. The event was such a success that we've already had requests to make it an annual tradition!\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are excited to continue building on this momentum. Our next steps include expanding our competitive play, organizing more tournaments, and introducing advanced strategies and game analysis. Students will begin tracking their progress, reflecting on their matches, and setting personal goals for improvement.\r\n\r\nYour support has truly made a difference in our classroom and for our students. The addition of the resources has brought joy, peace, concentration, and happiness to our learning environment. All of the classes that I teach in addition to the teachers who have class in my room have had the opportunity to use the resources. \r\nWe received balance chairs that provide sensory engagement during class time. This has provided students with greater focus while working, something to talk about with friends, and a way to destress during the school day. Our workload sometimes brings students into the hallway right outside our classroom. The sensory chairs provide a fun atmosphere to the hallway and focus to students. \r\nThe sensory stickers have been a subtle means for destressing. Caring for these expensive dresses and storing them safely means that every year we will be able to offer formal gowns to young women who will attend a milestone event. \r\n\r\nWe have heard from the young women in our school and community that having a gown to wear to the prom is a huge financial pressure. The Prom Boutique offers so many beautiful options without any cost. The young women look beautiful and enjoy their evening feeling confident.\r\n\r\nOur National Honor Society will continue this service project of offering gowns to the school and community at no cost.
