Your support also provided hands-on instructional tools, including Elkonin Boxes, desktop magnetic sound wall boards, and a tabletop magnetic easel, which have become an important part of our daily literacy instruction. Thank you for investing not only in my professional growth, but also in the success of my students.\r\n\r\nWhen I introduced the new materials, my students were excited to have interactive tools they could use during phonics lessons. They especially enjoy using the magnetic sound wall boards and Elkonin Boxes to segment and blend sounds as they build words. Watching their confidence grow as they manipulate sounds and recognize spelling patterns has been incredibly rewarding. These resources have made our literacy block more engaging, allowing students to actively participate while strengthening the foundational reading skills they need to become successful readers.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our literacy journey, we will use these materials every day to reinforce phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, and word-building skills. The strategies I learned through the Science of Reading course are already helping me provide more effective, evidence-based instruction that meets the needs of all learners. Your generosity has created lasting opportunities for my students, and the impact of your support will continue long after this school year. The added warmth, snacks, and winter essentials like hats and gloves have truly made a difference, especially during colder mornings and long school days.\r\n\r\nWe use these resources daily—students are able to grab a snack when they need it, and those who may not have had proper winter gear can now stay warm during arrival, recess, and dismissal. One special moment that stood out was seeing a student light up when they were able to put on a brand-new hat and gloves before going outside. They felt proud, comfortable, and included with their peers. Moments like that remind me how important it is to meet our students' basic needs so they can fully focus on learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were so excited and grateful. Many of them immediately expressed how happy they were to have snacks available and warm items to wear. It created a strong sense of comfort, care, and community within our classroom.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue building on this supportive environment while focusing on both academic and social-emotional growth. Students are currently working on collaborating during group activities and strengthening their independence during learning tasks. The lap desks have made a major difference in our writing throughout the day. Our students are so excited to use their lap desks and journals throughout the day! \r\n\r\n One special moment was during writing time, when students spread out comfortably around the room using their lap desks to write and illustrate their stories. The flexibility allowed them to choose spaces where they felt focused and calm, which made a big difference, especially for students who benefit from movement and a change of environment. Their journals have quickly become a place where they take pride in their work, practicing sentences, drawing detailed pictures, and expressing their ideas.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials were first introduced, the classroom buzzed with excitement. Students couldn't wait to try out their lap desks and were eager to begin writing in their new journals. Many of them immediately treated the journals as something special, carefully opening to the first page and asking what they could write. It was wonderful to see even hesitant writers feel more motivated and confident just by having their own dedicated space and tools.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue using the lap desks and journals during writing, reading response, and even math activities like solving problems and explaining their thinking. Our next steps include building stronger writing skills, such as using complete sentences, adding details, and organizing their ideas. Your kindness provided my students with valuable literacy tools that helped make learning to read more engaging, hands-on, and accessible. These resources supported our work with phonics, letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and early word-building skills, giving students the opportunity to practice the foundations of reading in meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nMy students were especially excited to use the magnetic letter tiles, dry erase activity trays, and word-building materials during small-group instruction and literacy centers. They loved being able to physically move letters, build words, and make connections between sounds and letters. Activities that once felt challenging became more interactive and exciting as students tapped out sounds, blended words, practiced CVC patterns, and gained confidence as beginning readers. The mini composition notebooks also became a wonderful tool for students to record their learning, practice writing, and celebrate their progress.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, I was able to provide more targeted instruction and create opportunities for every learner to participate at their own level. These materials supported my implementation of Science of Reading strategies and allowed me to work with students in small groups to strengthen their foundational literacy skills. Students were thrilled to get their hands dirty, plant seeds, care for growing plants, and observe the changes that took place over time. Watching their excitement as they planted and checked on their garden was a wonderful reminder of how powerful hands-on experiences can be in sparking curiosity and a love of learning.\r\n\r\nThese materials allowed my students to connect classroom lessons to the real world by learning about plant life cycles, healthy foods, teamwork, and caring for living things. Although this message is long overdue, I have always been grateful for your generosity and wanted you to know the difference your support made in my classroom during the 2020 school year.\r\n\r\nThanks to your kindness, my students had engaging, hands-on resources that brought learning to life every day. The Base 10 Hands-On Student Packs made math lessons more interactive as students built numbers, modeled place value, and solved addition and subtraction problems using manipulatives. The Write & Wipe Lapboards quickly became a classroom favorite because they allowed students to practice new skills, erase mistakes, and try again with confidence. The Sight Word Rings and Daily Activity Journals became an important part of our literacy centers, helping students strengthen their reading fluency and build confidence with high-frequency words.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first received these materials, they were excited and eager to use them. They especially enjoyed having their own individual math manipulatives and lapboards for small-group lessons and partner activities. These resources encouraged participation, boosted confidence, and supported meaningful learning throughout the year.\r\n\r\nYour generosity helped my students build a stronger foundation in both reading and math, and these materials continued to benefit many young learners well beyond that school year.
