They are writing with brand-new pencils, collaborating with dry-erase markers during group discussions, and creating high-quality, long-lasting projects using the laminator and glue tools. When the materials arrived, their excitement was immediate and genuine—several students eagerly asked, \"Can we start now?\" These resources have transformed our classroom into a more engaging, hands-on learning environment. Moving forward, students will use these supplies to complete extended writing projects, design interactive posters, and participate in creative, project-based lessons that strengthen academic skills while also building confidence, ownership, and pride in their work.","fullyFundedDate":1755754339490,"projectUrl":"project/lets-learn/9500845/","projectTitle":"Lets Learn!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Shockley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10093822_orig.jpg?crop=1365,1365,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753473727207","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10093822"},{"teacherId":9471810,"projectId":8781834,"letterContent":"Myself, the soccer stars of 107th St., staff, and families are forever grateful for your donation to our soccer program. For many of the scholars that participate in Eagles Futbol Club at 107th, this was their first experience in organized sports. It has been three years of joy I've poured into this program and now it's exceeded my expectations with the impact it has created in my school's community. \r\n\r\nThis year it was my goal to expand the soccer program from one team to two, so I reach more students on campus, and host a final match at the end of each semester. With your support I was able to do just that! This past fall 32 scholars from 3rd-5th grade of diverse identities played our first major match at 107th! Leading up to the game one of the parents of a 4th grade player helped kids find the right cleat size, while I distributed uniforms. Every kid was smiling from ear to ear like it was Christmas morning as they received their first school soccer uniform. They even nominated team captains who sported an official captains armband the day of the match. \r\n\r\nThe field was lined, the goals were set, the players repped their uniforms all day on campus, a fellow staff member helped coach, and every player's family, teacher, and fellow classmates came out to support! The scholars played their hearts out, showing off all they learned in practice. There were two dramatic goals, ending the game in a tie. It was truly a magical day. \r\n\r\nWith the success of the game, more attention was brough to the program and over 70 new students applied for the spring season! Soccer is the world's sport and everyone deserves to the chance to experience it. Thank you for helping me share my passion with the players of 107th St. Elementary in South LA- your support truly made a difference.","fullyFundedDate":1733859046216,"projectUrl":"project/eagles-fc-of-our-school/8781834/","projectTitle":"Eagles FC of Our School!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Eigle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9471810_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726454141926","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9471810"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_7538","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":877,"numTeachers":37,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":22,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":72,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"23.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":70.3,"schoolId":7538,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about 107th Street Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"107th Street Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/107th-street-elementary-school/7538"}
