My elementary students go to an inner city elementary school surrounded by a low socio-economic neighborhood. They don't have the advantages that most students in affluent and middle class neighborhoods do. These students are highly talented in the arts. We have had some talented actors, singers, dancers, and artists in the past. The students range from second to fifth grade. Our school productions make the community come alive. The love and support for our students comes through the community and their efforts to make our play successful. This is our third production and each year the parent and community support increases. Last year alone we had over 50 parents assist us with costumes, set design. etc. Our productions have made school and learning fun which in turn has shown an increase on my students state test scores. Please give these kids a chance to make their dreams come to life.
