Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are eager learners and are always ready to learn although they come from a low income families where their parents are struggling to put food on the table. As tired as my parents are when they come home from work, they make sure that their children had a great day of learning.
Covid-19 Pandemic and Distance Learning have challenged our society unexpectedly as teachers are having to teach remotely and in many different digital platforms as students and their families struggle to deal with this new learning.
My students lack devices and internet connection at home to ensure continued Remote Learning and education has come to a halt as they await devices from the district.
My Project
My students have been working very hard all year getting ready for Kindergarten. Everyday when they are at school, they thrive to do their very best in learning everything their teacher teaches them. They know that when they go home, their parents might not have the time or might not be able to help them with their work.
Covid-19 Pandemic and Distance Learning will not stop me from giving my students the best education they deserve.
The Apple Pencil will serve as an essential device that I really needed for my everyday zooming with my students. This Apple Pencil will open many windows of opportunity for the little ones.
With this Apple Pencil, I can teach reading, writing, math and art. As I share my screen, I can show students how to blend sounds to read words as I write one sound at a time. I can write simple words for students to read. I can write math problems or word problems and explain to them how they are solved after they finish with the assignment.
