My students love listening to me read books during our class Zoom meetings.
They love looking the pictures as I display them online. And they also love taking turns and discussing their favorite events and characters. The in-depth discussions are continuously fascinating for all of us.
When I look out into my virtual classroom, I see students from other parts of the world and some born right in the neighborhood, making for a rich cultural experience.
Our school is diverse; it makes teaching and being a part of the community a welcomed challenge every day.

My Project
These books are read aloud that I've had my eye on for a while now. They would make great read aloud on our class Zoom meetings. They go well with our writing and reading lessons. Plus it's just nice for students to hear their own teacher's voice reading them a story as they see all their classmates faces virtually. It doesn't replace the magic of the classroom, but does brighten many students' day! Students love commenting in the chat feature especially when the books become funny or silly. A little comedy with their reading comprehension right now is a good thing in my book!
