My Students

Have you ever worked diligently on a project, spending hours on research and production only to find that you are unable to save your work because you are using someone else's computer?

The students at my school are gracious and loving, willing to share basic materials such as computers with each other and the lower grade levels.

They enjoy conducting research and creating projects, particularly through use of technology. However, they are unable to save their work if they need additional computer lab time. As a result, the students feel that if they are unable to complete their task in a thirty minute time period, then they should not try at all. While this prevailing attitude is disappointing, I sympathize and understand this point of view.

My Project

With a thumb drive available to each student, they will be able to create projects using their strong research and computer skills. The students will have the ability to create PowerPoint and Promethean presentations, podcasts, and flip videos as well as standard reports. While it may not be vital to their futures to be able to utilize Glogster and Blabberize, it is important for students to be comfortable with technology and all of its benefits.

This project will aid the students in strengthening basic skills as well as developing technology skills.

It will also provide the students with an opportunity to learn more about the world beyond our school's campus.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
