Mrs. Isgett from Florence SC is requesting musical instruments through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students quality violins. Many of the violins we have will not stay in tune, have cracks, holes or sound like someone is talking with a pinched nose.

I teach in a Title I school.
Most of our students receive free or reduced price lunch and breakfast. This means that any and all opportunities our students receive musically come from our school. Private music lessons are very expensive and out of reach for most of our students. The student body is made of mostly minorities. I want to ensure that our students are receiving many beneficial opportunities to their learning, development and appreciation of the beauty of music.
My school has a orchestra program that I am trying to grow. We have plenty of Cellos but not enough violins. The violins we do have are old, sound like someone talking through a pinched nose and there for it is harder for students to hear correct notes. Many violins need so much repair and are over 20 years old. We have instruments that refuse to stay tuned or that are scratched and dented up badly from years of various students. Please help us have decent quality so that we can enjoy music, not want to quit due to an ill set up instrument, and hear our selves clearly. We want our program to grow and prosper. I want kids inspired to keep a life long love of music and hobby.
