My Project

Everyone has their own safe space they go to in times of frustration, sadness, overstimulation, or just needing a minute to hit the reset button. This can be a quiet reading nook in your house, a backyard patio, a quiet room, or a peaceful porch. Unfortunately, while in a school setting, we do not have those kind of places to escape to when we need it most.

By providing a sense of calm and comfort, sensory rooms help children learn to self-regulate, which ultimately improves focus.

My students will benefit greatly from these lighting options added to my sensory room in order to provide a therapeutic safe space of comfort and calm.
