My students love opportunities to manipulate letters and sounds. In our small reading groups, we often use magnet letter trays. They are always a hit and are truly a classroom favorite. I want to feed off that love and excitement and build upon it as magnets in general are engaging, intriguing, and enticing to kids! Variety is the spice of life!
These Build-A-Word Magnet Boards are the perfect scaffolding component to help students identify the number of sounds in a word and the position of them.
The columns assist with placement. They even highlight targeted sounds which is perfect for my students who require extra support.
This complete set of phonics magnetic word building boards has the added bonus of visual representations and picture cues which are extremely beneficial for my second language learners. These boards would serve as a great instructional teaching tool as well as a fun and interactive partner activity with student pairs. It's a win win all the way around!
I can't wait to see my students build their word knowledge base as they play with these fun phonics boards. We are excited to build on the basics!
