My Students

My class has 18 curious and energetic 6-7 year old first grade students with varying social, emotional, and cognitive needs. My students are full of excitement and learn through movement.

This year my first graders have expressed how much they love sitting on the hokki stools that we have in our classroom when it's their turn to share.

The hokki stools allow my students to sit on a stool that is curved at the bottom so that it can wobble.

My Project

My students need 9 more Hokki stools in our classroom. Hokki is an ergonomic stool that transforms stationary sitting into an activity, ideal for children because they can move during times they are expected to sit still. Students love sitting on these stools during their desk work, independent reading time, and during calm down breaks.

These Hokki stools would allow my students to do the following: sit comfortably, move easily, increase their core strength, and stay more engaged while writing, reading, and listening to instruction.

My students are always asking when is it their turn to use a hokki stool!
