This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is comprised of twenty-five, wonderful, second-grade students in the heart of the Silicon Valley in San Jose. The majority of my students are learning English as a second language and qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, but this does not hold them back in any way.

Students come to school daily with a drive to learn more academically, and I strive to do my best to give that to them.

They deserve nothing but the most solid educational experience possible. Everyone at the school, including teachers, principals, support staff, parents, and students, helps to make our school a wonderful place to be and learn. Help us make our educational experiences even more memorable.

My Project

You're truly our lucky charm! We love to do art projects and before you know it, St. Patrick's Day will be here. For this project, I am requesting a St. Patrick's themed craft kit for students to work on, in conjunction with learning about the holiday. I know they'll enjoy the activity. I'm also requesting a new electric pencil sharpener. I only allow adults in the class to sharpen pencils for the kids, but pencils are essential to learning and our current sharpener, does not produce very sharp pencils. Lastly, I'm requesting a variety of organizational bins to organize the various supplies and learning centers we have in our class. This will help students be more independent in finding the materials on their own. Please help us get these materials into our class! Thank you so much!
