Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Kindergarten students are very much hands on learners. I love to incorporate play with learning to help the skills we had learned stick in our brains. This also gives students a chance to use skills learned independently and even have meaningful conversations with their classmates. The puzzles I am requesting are fun ways for students to practice identifying sounds in words, spell simple CVC words, rhyme and practice making letters of the alphabet. As well I have included some creative, building puzzles to encourage imagination during our Fun Fridays. Fun Fridays is a fun time at the end of the day for students to celebrate all the hard work we did for the week.

Puzzles are good for learning but also helps students with socially interacting.

I use puzzles during centers time and on our Fun Fridays. Puzzles are not only helping my students solve problems but also helps them build teamwork in completing the puzzles. It is rewarding to see and hear how excited students are when they come tell me they finished a puzzle. And it is more rewarding when they tell their friend, "Let's go do another one!"
