Young Scientists Seek Color Printer and Accessories!
Help me give my students access to a color printer for physical science and biology learning activities within our classroom! We will also use hot wheels cars for experiments in physics using acceleration, velocity, and momentum!
I teach Physical Science and Biology at a public urban school where the budget is tight. My students are eager to learn and understand science in tangible, varied, culturally relevant ways. They ask fabulous questions and are always itching to SEE more and DO more. Unfortunately, access to reliable technology and materials necessary to creating hands-on, colorful materials can be a struggle. Our school's finances should never be a hindrance to students' curiosity.
I have over one hundred students and a large majority of them learn best with hands-on activities and colorful, detailed visual examples.
It is also an important 21st-century skill for students to create and analyze models and diagrams, both virtual and physical. I want to provide the best learning experience for my amazing students. I would like to infuse new technology and exciting activities into my lessons.
My Project
Sometimes my students just need to see that diagram in color! Access to color printing is VERY limited at our school, so having a color printer in my room will allow us to practice modeling and analysis skills more effectively. It will also provide immediate, on-demand access to digital models/diagrams that students create themselves in class. The ability to print in color would be a tremendous asset to my classes full of visual learners.
With a printer in our room, computer mice for chromebooks, and hot wheels cars to facilitate our active exploration of physics concepts, students will continue to hone their 21st century skills via materials and activities that pique their interest.
We can create visual models on our chromebooks, and print and analyze data in stunning color!
